Technology Advanced dental technology for remarkable results
Alongside training and experience, technology enables us to achieve remarkable results with very little patient pain or downtime in most cases. Truly, digital dentistry is the new frontier, and among dental practices in the Pleasant Hill area, we’re proud to be at the forefront. The technology we offer includes:
Fotona LightWalker Laser
With our advanced multi-functional laser we can perform a number of dental treatments including recontouring gums, removing periodontal pockets, treating cold sores, fever blisters and more without post-operative pain or bleeding. The laser is also perfect for fillings, making it possible to preserve more of the tooth structure than the drill. Ricardo M Perez, DDS uses Fotona Lasers, one of the most experienced developers of high-technology systems in the world. Fotona Lasers provide uniform laser treatments with predictable, safe results that are minimally invasive, reduce the need for numbing or Novocaine, and are highly effective with a short downtime afterwards.
Fotona NightLase Laser
Fotona NightLase is a non-invasive laser therapy for patients suffering from sleep apnea and snoring. Proven safe and effective, Nightlase is a comfortable solution for increasing your quality of sleep that doesn’t require medications or wearing a device.
Same-Day Crowns
Our practice is fully equipped with the tools to create longer-lasting crowns without the wait. We use CEREC, a technology that combines computer-assisted design (CAD) and computer-aided manufacturing (CAM), with a strong porcelain that looks and feels like a natural tooth.
Computer-Aided Imagery
We use computer-aided imagery to show how smile makeovers will look prior to undergoing any procedures. At the practice of Ricardo M Perez, DDS, there are no surprises, except how accurate and transformative your results are after treatment.
DIAGNOdent
DIAGNOdent increases precision in detecting tooth decay and aids in detecting cavities sooner and more accurately, which saves you time and money.
Digital Impressions
Digital impressions eliminate the goopy, unpleasant-tasting dental impression material that often causes patients to gag and not enjoy their visit. They also allow for a better-fitting final restoration, which in turn allows for a faster appointment and less time in the dental chair. For digital impressions, we use a state-of-the-art 3Shape TRIOS scanner. We also offer CEREC (Chairside Economical Restorations of Esthetic Ceramic) to design and create custom restorations, such as crowns and veneers, during one visit. CEREC restorations are metal-free and tooth colored to restore your tooth to its natural beauty, strength, and function.
Digital X-rays
With digital x-rays, a small sensor is placed inside your mouth instead of the traditional paper tabs that fit awkwardly and often cause pain. The sensor is connected to a computer by a thin, unobtrusive wire and records a highly detailed image of your mouth. The image is then sent to the computer, where it is instantly projected onto a screen for us to review.
Digital Printer
Digital printing helps us design and produce dental prosthesis much more quickly than in the past. For example, with 3D technology, implants can be fabricated with more detail, but with less time and effort.
The Wand Syringe-Free Anesthetic
The Wand is a revolutionary computer-controlled local anesthesia injection system that allows a more predictably comfortable injection, especially in the more sensitive areas of the mouth, such as the palate or front. It also allows the use of less anesthetic at certain times, and techniques can be used to eliminate the collateral numbing of your face, tongue, and lips. A microprocessor inside The Wand automatically compensates for different tissue densities, so the anesthetic is delivered at a constant pressure and volume that’s typically below the threshold of pain.
Teeth Whitening
We offer both in-office and take-home teeth whitening options. Our in-office system, Sinsational Smile, is quick, simple, and affordable. Most importantly, it does not cause sensitivity like other teeth whitening systems, and the procedure only takes about 30 minutes. Plus, you’ll receive a maintenance pen to further extend your new, whiter smile at home. For take-home teeth whitening, we offer the Opalescence system, which you can use on your time, day or night, with our support and guidance.
